Torcon has provided general contracting and construction management services in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding areas for more than 25 years. We strive to support and improve the communities we serve, and we’ve had the honor of working on some incredible Philadelphia-based CM projects over the years.
Our first project in the area was in the late 1990s when we were selected by the University of Pennsylvania for its 14-story Biomedical Research Building based on our industry-leading experience related to large lab facilities. Since this time, we’ve worked with other colleges and universities as well as corporate offices, hospitals, and manufacturing facilities.
One of the most unique and interesting projects in Torcon’s history is Princeton University’s Whitman College. Featuring 10-interconnected buildings, including a residence hall, dining facility, and theater, the project also required Collegiate Gothic architecture and the use of traditional materials and methods, such as load-bearing masonry walls with hand-set fieldstone.
Our Philadelphia-based construction management projects have been so critical to our business that twenty years ago we established local offices at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The office is managed by veterans of the construction industry, and our Philadelphia projects are staffed by professionals who are local to the area and understand the unique character of the city. We also pride ourselves on recruiting engineers and construction professionals graduating from Philadelphia colleges and universities.
