Torcon was Construction Manager for a new 313,000 sq. ft. mixed-use facility adjacent to Temple University’s campus in North Philadelphia. The building helped alleviate the University’s need for student housing, providing 832 student beds in 238 units. The 14-story facility comprises studios, 1 bedroom, 2 bedroom, 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom suites, each with a bathroom and kitchen. All units are fully furnished and feature stainless steel appliances and stone counter tops.

The View includes a sky lounge on the top floor, multiple game centers with large screen televisions, and 24 hour study lounges on each floor.  Amenities also include laundry facilities on each floor, a state-of-the-art fitness center located on the first floor, and an 11,000 sq. ft. section of the ground floor for shopping and dining spots.

The new tower was designed by Philadelphia-based WRT. The striking exterior facade uses wall panels colored in deep oranges, reds, white, and gray that blend in seamlessly with Temple’s landscape of cherry and white. The building also has operable windows and curtain wall feature sections.

This project is certified LEED Silver.
