Torcon was the Construction Manager for the renovation of an 84,000 sq. ft. industrial building for an automated food processing operation with a 10,000 SF administrative area.

The project included a centralized control room for operators to manage the process; a 500 sq. ft. environmental room for cold storage; a new central utility plant with all new MEP equipment and process support utilities; and installation of large-scale equipment for grinding, heating, filtration, pasteurization and drying. Torcon added mezzanines for equipment access.

The facility features an automated bin delivery system at the loading dock, serving an automated conveyor system and indoor storage tanks for finished liquid products and exterior silos for dry product storage and truck loading.

Torcon installed a new process control system including instruments, process equipment, front end, and proprietary automation system, as well as a dry product conveyance system to move product from the dryers into storage, and then into trucks.

Facility upgrades included slab cutting for installation of underground utilities and footings. New rooftop structural dunnage to support HVAC equipment.  Site utility upgrades included new water, sanitary sewer, and natural gas services.
