The safety evaluation building is built to European standards and provides daylight into holding rooms through windows, glass partitions and a skylight. It features an expansive dog-run/exercise area on a curtainwall-lined exterior corridor.
The addition was constructed immediately adjacent to the existing vivarium and provides a dedicated loading dock for animals. The primary holding area is aligned with a small animal vivarium in the adjacent building. The common central support core 4 includes spaces for cage washing, food storage/prep, surgical suite, lockers, housekeeping, storage and a prep lab.
