Torcon was the construction manager for The New Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ.  The new 910,000 SF, acute-care hospital comprises  three 7-story wings and an integrated 3-story podium.

The new state-of-the-art hospital provides 370 beds, including 70 critical care beds.  The key features of the new hospital include single-patient rooms for privacy and healing inclusive of a 75-inch footwall to display key patient details and display entertainment options; single-patient rooms for neonate intensive care unit (NICU) patients; a dedicated Women’s pavilion, a highly advanced, integrated interventional platform and diagnostic imaging, a new emergency department; an intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite; park-like grounds; and the latest technology.  There are 25 operating rooms and three c-section ORs in the interventional suite. The emergency department provides more than 60 treatment rooms.

The hospital also include a 5-story, 1,600-car parking garage attached to the main building.

Valley also focused on its environmental responsibilities with all aspects of the new project by implementing smart sustainable design that minimizes waste and preserves natural resources. Both the hospital and the garage have green roofs to minimize the environmental impact of the project and improve patient views. The project is designed to achieve LEED Gold.
