Torcon was the Construction Manager for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company’s state-of-the-art new facility in Lawrence Township at Princeton Pike. The campus co-locates 2,100 Bristol-Myers Squibb colleagues, enabling greater opportunity for collaboration through centralized meeting zones. The 650,000 sq. ft. glass complex sits on 135 acres and comprises four buildings linked by a central four-story atrium with a clerestory and glass end walls.

Collaborative workspaces and an open office environment are used throughout the facility with floor-to-ceiling glass on all floors providing outdoor views and natural light. The workplace experience is complemented with an array of amenities and services to promote well-being and work-life balance, including a coffee bar, full-service cafeteria, conference/learning center, a fitness center, medical and wellness areas, an outdoor patio, and walk/bike paths complete with a bike share program. Torcon was also CM for an on-site childcare facility, which is available to all BMS employees.

The atrium functions as a large event space and is equipped with a raised stage, 24-foot-wide silicon display screen, and theatrical lighting. The space accommodates up to 1,000 employees to gather for town hall meetings that can be broadcasted globally. Acoustics, sunlight control, lighting, and audio-visual solutions are provided to ensure an optimum experience.

Bristol-Myers Squibb is committed to sustainability and followed stringent energy and environmental guidelines in the construction of the new office building. Design solutions included an array of green building elements such as a central ice storage plant, a hydronic radiant heating/cooling floor system in the atrium, and EV charging stations.
