Torcon provided construction management services for renovation of a 38,000 sq. ft. 3 building on Munich Re’s corporate campus. The project required a complete gut of the single-story building and fit-out for a new corporate conference center and a employee fitness center. The conference center includes a wide range of conference and training rooms from small intimate settings to a multipurpose room capable of seating 500 people. The multi-purpose room can be used for producing whole company town hall broadcasts, subdivided and arranged for training sessions of 100+ people, or transformed for high end dinner parties and entertainment. A full-service kitchen is provided for larger events.

The fitness center is designed as part of Munich Re’s employee health and wellness program with a full range of cardio equipment, exercise machines, a free weight area, a custom spinning room, a dance/aerobics room and physical therapy facilities.

The project earned LEED Platinum and was recognized as the Suburban Green Project-Commercial award winner by the U. S. Green Building Council of NJ in its 13th Annual Emerald Awards. The award recognizes Munich Re’s commitment to sustainability and the new building’s first-class appearance, sustainable technologies, materials, and operating strategies.
