Torcon was the construction manager on a team selected to develop student housing at Rowan University. Holly Pointe Commons provides 1,400 beds of new housing and a new 500-seat centralized student dining facility. The development project is a public-private partnership between Rowan and University Student Living, the comprehensive campus housing company of The Michaels Organization.

Designed by Philadelphia-based Erdy McHenry Architecture, the 303,000 square foot student housing project consists of dual 4-story and 7-story buildings interconnected by a three-level bridge. With a unique serpentine-shaped footprint, the building forms a new campus oval with greenspace for student gatherings, and the floor to ceiling glass in the community lounge areas fully immerses students with the bucolic campus around them. In addition, the project features a 20,000 square foot dining facility with seating for more than 500 students, seminar rooms and convenient access to a variety of modern amenities.

The residential facility is organized around communities of between 35 and 40 students in a series of college house pods, providing for the physical and social needs of students. This facility includes 36 residential pods, each of which contains 18 double occupancy rooms, one RA room, two single occupancy rooms, a common lounge and shared bathrooms. Social and academic lounges, seminar rooms, recreation facilities and laundry facilities are also included to encourage interaction among residents as they adjust to campus life in the undergraduate environment.
