The employee building now serves as Campbell’s front door, featuring a dramatic glass entrance and lobby with super-graphics reflecting the Campbell brand to welcome employees and visitors.
The building includes a new café, fitness center, company store and credit union, as well as additional space, conference rooms and a learning and development center. These all were relocated from existing buildings. Additionally, the building houses an innovative training and learning center called Campbell University.
The central location of the Employee Building creates an opportunity to unify the historic Camden campus by physically connecting to the other major buildings and creating a landscaped courtyard as a shared amenity. The entire area is enhanced by the new courtyard where employees can enjoy outdoor dining or convene a meeting in the fresh air. Like the main dining area, the courtyard is set-up to accommodate company and public functions, and larger meetings with lighting, A/V and a stage area. The courtyard is also equipped with fixtures that will accept a tent to cover the area for more formal events.
Consistent with Campbell’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability, the new building is an environmentally friendly, LEED-certified “green” facility. Some of the environmentally efficient features of the new building include energy efficient HVAC, water conservation, recycled building materials, and daylight harvesting techniques, among others.
