In addition to the Critical Care Building, Torcon added an 1,100-car, seven-story precast concrete structure, totaling 370,000 sq. ft. with three elevators. The project was completed under a design/build contract and is located adjacent to the Medical Center’s main entrance. The garage includes a single story, 20,000 sq. ft. retail building. Torcon’s contract included demolition of an existing 500-car garage on the site. Midway through construction, the existing garage had a structural failure and was closed. Torcon successfully expedited construction of the new facility, delivering 400 spaces fully seven months ahead of schedule and the entire garage five months ahead of schedule.
