Construction was recently completed on the new 200,000 sq. ft. home of the New Jersey Division of Taxation. The curtainwall-clad building in Trenton was developed by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority for the NJ Division of Property Management and Construction. NJEDA has been one of Torcon’s core clients for over 30 years.
The 8-story office building is situated on an urban site and accommodates space for more than 1,000 people in private and open landscape offices. A variety of full-outfitted meeting and conference rooms are provided on each floor along with a pantry and coffee kitchen. The building provides public art installations in the lobby and on the exterior courtyard.
The new Taxation Building is LEED Gold with environmentally friendly features such as reduced light pollution, indoor water use reduction, optimized energy performance, chilled beams, energy recovery wheels, enhanced commissioning, four waste streams with 75%+ recycled construction waste and low emitting materials.
