Torcon is a privately-held company that is owned and operated by its founding family.
Established in 1965 by Benedict Torcivia, Torcon has been managed by his two sons, Ben and Joe for more than 25 years. Torcon’s core leadership team includes a large group of long-time employees and third-generation executives who have helped the company expand and diversify into new growth markets.
In its early years, Torcon grew steadily in size as the suburban metropolitan area grew. Torcon’s work during the 1980’s included large-scale developments in Newark, Parsippany, Short Hills and Princeton. In the early 1990’s, Torcon developed strong expertise in pharmaceutical facility construction, serving as CM for many of the nation’s premier R&D centers. Torcon’s performance on these critical facilities led to a sustained presence in Puerto Rico at the request of existing clients to manage the construction of cGMP manufacturing and other process facilities.
After serving the Philadelphia market from its headquarters, twenty years ago the company established a local operations office at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. The office is managed by long-time veterans of Philadelphia’s construction industry and maintains a strong staff to support local projects. Torcon Philadelphia has grown each year and the company is consistently ranked among the top CM’s in the city and the surrounding area.
In 2006, after more than 40 years in Westfield, New Jersey, Torcon’s relocated its corporate headquarters to a larger building in Red Bank. With an annual construction volume of more than $500 million, Torcon remains one of the largest, most active builders in the region.
