TOTAL SQUARE FOOTAGE:
26,000 sq. ft.
Torcon has worked with The Valley Hospital for almost twenty years, including a continual presence in the hospital for that entire time. We were also the construction managers for Valley’s Bolger Medical Arts Building, a clinical and translational research program, with new laboratories and administrative offices in Paramus, New Jersey. The project consisted of renovating approximately 26,000 sq. ft. of a single story building at 970 Linwood Avenue for The Valley Hospital Healthcare System, which houses the Okonite Medical Research Laboratories and outpatient services .
The site is also the new home of The Valley Arrhythmia Institute, the tri-state area’s largest electrophysiology practice; the Center for Cancer Research and Genomic Medicine; and additional research laboratories devoted to the study of cardiac valve disease. Valley’s tissue banks for cardiac and oncology research – which were among the first to be established in the state – are also housed in the new building.
Torcon completed a renovation of the core and shell of the building and a fit-out of a new lab area with supporting office and administrative space.
The project included the complete demolition and removal of all interior finishes, MEP systems, exterior fascia’s, soffits, mechanical screen and site work. New MEP services were provided into the building from the utility companies and a new infrastructure for the building was constructed.
