COMPLETED: OCTOBER 2014
6.3 MW ground-mounted solar PV system on a 20-acre site owned by the Medical Center.
A joint-venture of Torcon Energy Services (TES) and KDC Solar, LLC
Torcon Energy Services and KDC Solar completed the installation of a 6.317 MW DC ground mounted solar facility located in Freehold, New Jersey. The system, which began commercial operation in October 2014, is owned by KDC Solar Middlesex 3, LLC and was built on 26.2 acres of land leased to KDC by CentraState Medical Center. It is expected to generate 8.1 million kWh annually, which will be purchased by CentraState at a reduced rate to help lower the medical center’s carbon footprint.
The solar panel project is the largest photovoltaic (PV) solar system supplying solar energy to any hospital in the state of New Jersey.
Torcon Energy Services provided comprehensive construction management services for the project, including direct oversight of construction and tie-in to CentraState’s electrical system. The project encompasses over 21,000 solar PV modules, 3 Eaton Power Xpert 1500 kilowatt (kW) inverters, and an Advanced Energy Industries 500 kilowatt (kW) inverter. The project began in 2014 and was coordinated and completed in less than nine (9) months.
